Seminars Cultural & Sports Activities    
An NSS unit was started in Dalmia College in 1972. This voluntary scheme provides the students with opportunities to enrich their personality and to understand the social environment in which they live through voluntary community service. Initially, it had two units for boys and girls.


Under normal activities, one day camps are being organized which undertake activities like camp cleaning, plantation in the campus, watering of plants and orientation of the volunteers. Under special camping programmes special puja camps of all the three units are organized in the adopted village chosen where the volunteers actively participate in works like Economic Survey of the village, construction and repair of village road and drinking water etc.


All the units are being properly guided by programme officers among whom a lady programme officer looks after the girls unit.

The Youth Red Cross unit of Dalmia College was started in 1976-1977. All the students of the college are the members of the unit. The basic objective of Red Cross is to serve the needy, enlighten the ignorant and foster friendship. Besides, it aims at rendering relief in times of natural calamities, to ensure proper treatment of poor patients, to provide financial assistance to the poor and helpless patients and to render help in emergencies.
An N.C.C. coy is functioning from 1982-83 session which is affiliated to BN.N.C.C. Rourkela with an enrolment of cadets at present. It aims at developing leadership character, idea of service, to create a force of disciplined and trained man-power which in a National Emergency could be of assistance. A high standard of discipline and conduct is expected of every cadet. Charges of indiscipline made against a cadet will be disposed of as per the procedure and punishment provided in the N.C.C. Act. 1948.
The Department of Physics has the unique distinction among all colleges affiliated to Sambalpur University, of organizing a National Level Conference on “Recent Advances in Physics” Sponsored by UGC. The Conference was held from 08.02.2006 to 10.02.2006 and was attended by 180 delegates, including eminent scientists from all over the country. Prof. S.N. Behera, Ex-Director, Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar, inaugurated the conference.  
The Department of Political Science also organized a state level UGC sponsored seminar on “Human Rights and Values in Education” on 29.11.06. Prof. M.B. Saran, Ex-Dean Humanities, IIT, Kharagpur, delivered the inaugural address. Many eminent scholars and social activists from all over the state attended the seminar.  
The college has the distinction of organizing literary seminars every year through its ‘Sahitya Sansad and Arts Socity’ inviting eminent personalities from different fields as speakers. Prof. J. M. Mohanty, Ex-Head, Department of English, Utkal University and eminent writer and critic in Oriya and English, Prof. Chandra Sekhar Rath, Ex-Professor, English, Utkal University and renowned Oriya novelist, essayist, short story writer and linguist, Prof. Adikanda Sahoo, Professor, Department of Oriya, Sambalpur University and eminent Oriya essayist and literary critic, had been with Dalmia College fraternity during these seminars.  
Annual Cultural and Sports Activities are organized in the college for students. These ensure all-round development and nurturing of hidden talent of students.
